Education
Every child deserves a quality education and Republicans are committed to helping children achieve their fullest potential by ensuring they attend terrific schools, are taught by great teachers, and live in safe neighborhoods. Our nation’s tried and true tradition of parents taking responsibility is important when those parents have the choice regarding their children’s schools. That’s why Arizona’s education reforms like charter schools and tuition tax credits are helping improve the education landscape.
Opportunity & Prosperity
America is the land of opportunity. People thrive when they are allow to work hard, keep more of their hard-earned income, and make investments that will grow in the future. Opportunity depends on a level playing field, where a business is allow to compete fairly and the natural forces of capitalism are harnessed to benefit all. A business environment that is free from burdensome and unnecessary regulation will always generate public benefits, especially when it’s in a business climate unfettered by high taxes and inflation.

The ongoing depressed economy of recent years has checked the financial security and prosperity of all of us. With unemployment at 8% and runaway government spending despite our massive federal debt, we are falling far short on delivery on the promise of the American dream for so many Americans. What started as housing crisis turned into a severe credit tightening, followed by declining investment and then staggering unemployment — and now prosperity has become much harder to come by. Republicans believe prosperity does not come from artificial, government-created jobs paid for with borrowed money because they provide only temporary relief. Lasting prosperity can only come from unleashing the human spirit and work ethic operating in a free and open market.
Healthcare
Republicans believe taking care of one’s health is an individual’s responsibility, not the government’s. It is no secret health care costs in this country are astronomical. We must encourage and reward personal responsibility while increasing preventative care to promote healthier lifestyles. Our goal is to encourage healthcare that provides high quality care at a low cost to any American. We can do this while protecting the patient-physician relationship based on trust, informed consent, and privileged patient confidentiality.
We seek to increase healthcare options, contain costs and reduce mandates, simplify the system for patients and providers, restore cuts made to Medicare, and have fairness in the tax treatment of group and individual health insurance plans. This is a practical, non-intrusive approach to health care reform. For most Americans, this will promote flexibility in state leadership, promote a free-market based system, and empower consumer choice.
Environment & Energy
We live in a day in age when our nation’s environment is getting healthier and cleaner. Our party strongly believes in being good stewards of nature and protecting the natural beauty and resources of our state. As such, we strong encourage smart, well-balanced environmental policies that protect our resources without harming the taxpayer.

Our national dependence on foreign oil threatens our country’s security; therefore we are committed to energy independence. Republican policies support this principle while still ensuring affordable and reliable energy. As Republicans, we urge the responsible development of all forms of our country’s natural resources while being respectful of environmental impacts. We aim to accomplish energy security through sound policies regarding America’s energy and environmental policies, we will put our country back on track.
Civil Rights
We are proud of our legacy of creating and protecting civil rights for Americans, as we have led the charge for civil liberties since the 19th century. Our party was founded on our core belief that everyone has a God-given right to freedom. We aggressively promote measures to ensure no one is discriminated against on the basis of race, religion, gender or financial status. Republican presidents have signed into law various Civil Rights Acts, guaranteeing the fair treatment of individuals across a diverse spectrum of nationalities.
Immigration
Our party welcomes immigrants because we believe strongly in civil liberties, the opportunity for prosperity, and the universal right to achieve the American Dream. We are grateful for legal immigrants from all countries who are making positive contributions to society by working, studying, building businesses, and serving in the Armed Forces.

Voting Rights
One of the founding principles of our party is ensuring everyone has the right to vote. A century ago Republicans stood alongside women’s suffrage activists implementing it. We continue to support the role the Electoral College plays in our presidential elections. We advocate for honest, open elections and support identification requirements at the polls to prevent voter fraud.
National Security
For decades, our party has embraced the philosophy of peace through strength. We believe lasting peace, defended by democratic institutions, freedom and the will to defend ourselves, has and will serve our country well. Today this means defending America’s homeland and her allies and interests in tandem with promoting effective intelligence teams. Not only do we fully support our armed forces, we are committed to providing them with the tools and training to keep them safe and effective.

Border security, especially in Arizona has been a challenge our Republican representatives have taken up and continue to fight for. At both the state and federal level our men and women in uniform have been receiving our heartfelt support for the difficult and dangerous work they perform to keep us safe.
